Work Hard Play Hard

Some people take their life lightly;
they work gently, play softly.

Some people prefer immediate pleasure;
they work gently, play hard.

Some people stress work satisfaction;
they work hard, play softly.

Some people stretch their life fully;
they work hard, play hard.

But how they spend their life is not
always their own choice.

They may be destined to do so!

畢書盡 - 浮生未歇

浮生未歇
作詞:耕耕   作曲:Xun(易劼稷勛)
Bii

Hong Kong is now a service society without customer services

Hong Kong is now a service society.

Most people working in Hong Kong
earn their living
by selling various services.

But I have recently experienced
that most people are selling
their services without good customer services.

These people do not care much
about customer services.
In their mind, customers are
coming to buy their services.
They don't have the concept of
the need for effort
to sell their services to attract customers.

* * *

How long can Hong Kong sustain well as
a service society without customer services?

Sting - Englishman in New York

I don't drink coffee, I take tea, my dear
I like my toast done on one side
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York
See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
He's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candle's brighter than the sun
Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Takes more than a license for a gun
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
A gentleman will walk but never run
If "manners maketh man" as someone said
He's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter what they say
(I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter
what they say
(oh, I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien)
Be yourself no matter
what they say (I'm an Englishman in New York)
Be yourself no matter what they say

The Dialogue between Two Pieces of Sakura Blossom Petals

A sakura blossom petal speaks to
one of her neighbouring petals,
"When I die and fall,
I hope that I can die at the Moon!"
"Why do you want to die at the Moon?"
"I want to live longer!"
"How can you live longer at the Moon?"
"The force of gravity at the Moon is only
one sixth of the earth, so when I fall,
I will fall slower,
so I can live a few seconds longer before
I land and die on the ground."

The "dust-is-dust" Assumption

There is an old Chinese saying that
"Since all is void, where can the dust alight?"
The original Chinese version is
“本來無一物,何處惹塵埃”。

This saying means that if you can become nothing,
no dust can settle on you!

Do you know what the dust's response is
when the dust hears this saying?

Tell you, the dust responds,
"I am nothing, I need nothing to settle on !
How come you assume that I need something to settle on!"

Kansas - "Dust In The Wind"

I close my eyes only for a moment,
and the moment's gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes,
a curiosity

Dust in the wind,
all they are is dust in the wind

Same old song,
just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground,
though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind,
all we are is dust in the wind

Now, don't hang on,
nothing lasts forever
but the earth and sky
It slips away,
and all your money won't another minute buy

Dust in the wind,
all we are is dust in the wind
(all we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind (everything is dust in the wind),
everything is dust in the wind (the wind)

Floating Age Discrimination

When you reach your seventies,
you are regarded as old by those
in their sixties, fifties, forties, thirties, twenties,
and even younger individuals.

In your sixties,
you are treated as old by those
in their fifties, forties, thirties, twenties,
and younger.

At fifty,
you are perceived as old by those
in their forties, thirties, twenties, and younger.

In your forties,
you are viewed as old by those
in their thirties, twenties, and younger.

Even in your thirties,
you are seen as old by those
in their twenties and younger.

However, in reality, those in their thirties
are quite young
considering the average life expectancy today!

It's unfortunate that people in their thirties
face age discrimination!

So, you always seem old in the eyes of
the younger generation!

***

But when it comes to your own perception of age,
it feels very different:

When you are in your seventies,
you still see yourself as young
because you feel younger than
many in their eighties or older.

In your sixties,
you perceive yourself as still young
because you are younger than
many in their seventies or older.

At fifty,
you view yourself as young
because you are younger than
many in their sixties or older.

In your forties,
you feel young
because you are younger than
many in their fifties or older.

When you are in your thirties,
you undoubtedly see yourself as young
since those in their thirties are
indeed quite young
given the average life expectancy today!

But no one knows how long their life will be,
and there is certainly
no age discrimination at the doorstep of Death!

The Beatles - When you are sixty four

When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck and Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four

Don't Go Overboard

When we act to get something,
don't go overboard!

It is not just because going overboard can hardly win others' belief.

More trickily, going overboard will create counter-force by itself in yourself.

You not only need to make other people to believe you,

but also need to make yourself to believe yourself~

How hard it is to make yourself to believe yourself!

Dreams Come True

Some dreams come true with something happened~

For example, getting a leave day from work~

Some dreams come true with something avoided~

For example, getting a negative test of a possible illness

* * *
What about if you can fake an illness to get you out of work!

Do you think that in such case,

you have double-dreams coming true?

* * *

Avoid having such dreams!!!~

Subsequent bad chain-dreams will come true!

Honesty: Billy Joel (張韶涵 cover)

[Why "Honesty" is such a lonely word.
people can't be honest because they used to dishonest?
Or because protecting someone you love so you can't be honest.
or because you have difficulties so you can't be honest.]

If you search for tenderness
It isn't hard to find
You can have the love you need to live

But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind
It always seem to be so hard to give

Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what i need from you

I can always find someone
To say they sympathize
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve

But I don't want some pretty face
To tell me pretty lies
All I want is someone to believe

Honesty is such a loney word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you

I can find a lover
I can find a friend
I can have security
Until the bitter end
Anyone can comfort me
With promises again
I know, I know

When I'm deep inside of me
Don't be too concerned
I won't ask for nothin' while I'm gone

When I want sincerity
Tell me where else can I turn
'Cause you're the one that I depend upon

Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
