Don't speak, it speaks

When a relationship is to be broken,
a perfectionlist will express clearly so that
there is a clear ending for the relationship.

Such a clear expression is
good to the perfectionist,
it can release his emotional burden
but it will in reverse add even greater
emotional burden on the other if
the other is not equally a perfectionist.

If a relationship is to be broken,
there will be another way
to end the relationship:
Don't speak,
just leave gradually and quietly.
It speaks.

No Doubt - Don't Speak

You and me, we used to be together
Every day together, always
I really feel that I'm losin' my best friend
I can't believe this could be the end
It looks as though you're lettin' go
And if it's real, well, I don't want to know

Don't speak, I know just what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Don't speak, I know what you're thinkin'
I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Our memories, well, they can be inviting
But some are altogether mighty frightening
As we die, both you and I
With my head in my hands, I sit and cry

Don't speak, I know just what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts, no, no, no
Don't speak, I know what you're thinkin'
And I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

It's all ending
We gotta stop pretending
Who we are
You and me
I can see us dyin'
Aren't we?

Don't speak, I know just what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
No, no, don't speak, I know what you're thinkin'
And I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
I know what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't speak, don't speak
Don't speak, no

I know what you're thinkin'
And I don't need your reasons
I know you're good, I know you're good
I know you're real good, oh
La, la, la, la
La, la, la, la
Don't, don't, ooh, ooh
Hush, hush, darling
Hush, hush, darling
Hush, hush
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Hush, hush, darling
Hush, hush, darling
Hush, hush
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Oh, hush, hush, darling

Hush, hush, darling

Tom's Diner

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner
I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee
And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue
He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in
"It is always
Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter
To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella
And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos
And I'm pretending
Not to see them
And instead
I pour the milk
I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor
Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of
And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies
When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head
There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?
No, she does not
Really see me
'Cause she sees
Her own reflection
And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt
And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Has gotten wet
Oh, this rain
It will continue

Through the morning
As I'm listening
To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice
And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began
I finish up my coffee

And it's time to catch the train

After the day at the sunset of life

As now I have reached my old age,
I know that not much big deal
can be done anymore.
I also learn that not many people will
care or pay attention to what deal I do, if any.

However, I still have the passion,
I am always an enthusiastic onlooker to watch
what others are doing.
If anyone would so choose to chat with me,
I am definitely willing to tell him about
my insights towards life.

人到晚年,可以做的事不多了。
想做也沒什麼人會理會或留意了。
若心還熱的,
也只能冷眼旁觀人世事。
若有誰會和我聊聊天,
我一定會告訴他有關我能洞識的天機。

When I was young listening to some songs
about the elderly written by some young artists,
I was not much impressed.
When I am now old listening to these same songs,
I surprisingly find that those some young artist had written very good songs on the elderly which I shared much:

年青時聽年青人創作有關老人的歌曲歌詞,
沒什麼感覺。到老時再聽那些歌,
覺得他們寫有關老人的歌曲歌詞,寫得很好呢:

Barclay James Harvest

THE POET
Here I sit watching the day out
No-one beside me who may doubt
All of the words that I could chose to say
So listen, believe, or be gone from this day

I need a friend to walk with me
And sit in the shade of an old tree
To think nothing much, just agree with my thoughts
To say nothing much, never tell what I ought

Watching the people pass by now
They just don't know why or know how
They don't seem to care about all that I've seen
They just walk on by never knowing I've been

Sitting up here where I'm wind blown
Only to ask and to be shown
Things that would make you believe what I say
I'll tell you myself and I'll show you some day

AFTER THE DAY
The eyes of night march slowly by
The last grain falls
The kneeling man just sighs
Protected by the one great wall
Of coloured parts
He probes his clouded mind

If he takes a look around him
Is there nothing left to see
Is there nothing left at all
After the day

With trembling hands he wipes his eyes
He tries to stand
But does not feel the need
The morning sun shines on
The multicoloured cross
Left standing through it all

If he takes a look around him
Is there nothing left to see
Is there nothing left at all
After the day

If he takes a look around him
Is there nothing left to see
Is there nothing left at all
After the day
