Just Some Little Slices of Life and Living

By Franslai @ FransWorkshop: Short Notes With or Without Traces of Wonders

When I can see their both sides now

When I was very young,
I liked watching TV.
When I was a youth,
I liked watching films.
When I was an adult,
I liked watching TV series dramas.

When I am now old,
I like watching life,
as I can watch them directly.

Both Sides Now · Joni Mitchell

Rows and floes of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
Looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
And you leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love's illusions that I recall
I really don't know love
I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say, "I love you, " right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
Oh, but now old friends, they're acting strange
And they shake their heads and they tell me that I've changed
Well, something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all
It's life's illusions that I recall
I really don't know life
I really don't know life at all

Sword can be easily pulled from a broken stone

When you are separated from someone
not on your own accord, for any reason,
it is advisable to take control and
separate your daily thoughts and living from them.

If you can't pull the sword from the stone,
break the stone.

———————

Passenger - Sword from the Stone

.

How you doing, darling?
How you getting on?
Any horses running?
Worth betting on?
How's the weather down there?
I hope you're keeping warm
How you feeling, sweetheart?
Are you moving on?
Are you sleeping okay?
Or do the nights go on and on?
I hope you're eating well
I hope you're staying strong
'Cause I'm fine and then I'm not
I'm spinning 'round and I can't stop
I can't do this alone
For time flies then it's so slow
I'm up and down like a yo-yo
I can't do it on my own
And I've tried,
and I can't pull the sword from the stone
How are your mum and dad?
How's your brother too?
My folks are holding up
My sister's pulling through
Both the cats say hi
I know they miss you too
'Cause I'm fine and then I'm not
I'm spinning 'round and I can't stop
I can't do this alone
For time flies then it's so slow
I'm up and down like a yo-yo
I can't do it on my own
'Cause I've tried,
and I can't pull the sword from the stone
Because I'm fine and then I'm not
I'm spinning 'round and I can't stop
I can't do this alone
Time flies then it's so slow
I'm up and down like a yo-yo
I can't do it on my own
See, I've tried,
and I can't pull the sword from the stone

Before and after one has become famous and successful

Before one becomes successful and famous,

being someone known only to his mother,

he will only talk with his mother

about the ways he can go:

"Are there chances in life for little dirt cowboys?"

"Should I make my way out of

my home in the woods?"

After one has become successful and famous,

he has become someone

who can frankly talk with his mother only

about his ups and downs on the way there,

just because only his mother couldn't fool him

and tell him her real feelings.

"Hey, Mom, do the papers say anything good?"

Elton John - Captain Fantastic and Brown Dirt Cowboy

Captain Fantastic, raised and regimented,
hardly a hero
Just someone his mother might know
Very clearly a case for Corn Flakes and classics
"Two teas both with sugar please"
In the back of an alley
While little dirt cowboys
turned brown in their saddles
Sweet chocolate biscuits and
red rosy apples in summer
For it's hay make and "Hey mom,
do the papers say anything good?
Are there chances in life for little dirt cowboys?
Should I make my way out of my home in the woods?"
Brown Dirt Cowboy, still green and growing
City slick Captain
Fantastic the feedback
The honey, the hive could be holding
For there's weak winged young sparrows that
starve in the winter
Broken young children on
the wheels of the winners
And the sixty-eight
summer festival wallflowers are thinning
For cheap easy meals,
hardly a home on the range
Too hot for the band with
a desperate desire for change
We've thrown in the towel too many times
Out for the count and when we're down
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
From the end of the world to your town
And all this talk of Jesus
coming back to see us
Mmm mmm couldn't fool us
For we were spinning out our lines
walking on the wire
Hand in hand went music and the rhyme
The Captain and the Kid
stepping in the ring
From here on sonny sonny sonny,
it's a long and lonely climb
For cheap easy meals,
hardly a home on the range
Too hot for the band with
a desperate desire for change
We've thrown in the towel too many times
Out for the count and when we're down
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
From the end of the world to your town
We've thrown in the towel too many times
Out for the count and when we're down
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
From the end of the world to your town

Stairway to Heaven at Work

The Peter Principle is a human resources theory
proposed by Laurence J. Peter,
stating that in a hierarchical organization,
employees will continue to be promoted
based on their success in their current roles
until they reach a level
where they lack the capability
to carry out the work required at that level.

An employee's incompetence is
observed and evidenced by their stress in
carrying out their work,
which results in lowered work efficiency,
failure to meet work quality standards,
poor implementation of tasks,
deteriorating staff relationships,
or even making mistakes in their duties.

The employee is described as
having reached their level of incompetence.

The employee, of course, knows their situation
and may feel frustration and dissatisfaction
with their work.
However, they may not admit it
unless they are willing to
step back from their position.

In rare cases, some people may recognize that
they don't have the capability
to be promoted to certain levels,
so they will refuse to be promoted.
This is often mistaken by outsiders as a sign
that the employee is not ambitious.

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that
glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven
When she gets there she knows,
if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get
what she came for
Ooh, ooh, and
she's buying a stairway to Heaven
There's a sign on the wall,
but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes
words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook,
there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, makes me wonder
There's a feeling I get
when I look to the West
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen
rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, really makes me wonder
And it's whispered that soon
if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those
who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
Oh-oh-oh-oh-whoa
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow,
don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths
you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road
you're on
And it makes me wonder
Ohh, whoa
Your head is humming, and it won't go,
in case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one, and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying a stairway to Heaven

Thank you to some persons in my life.

Occasionally, I like to play a "thank you" game:

I would think over to list

the first five people in my life

to whom I would like to say thank you.

This list changes

both in people and their ranks over time.

I hope that the list will keep on changing,

proving that I have new encounters with new people

in my life ahead.

Thank You - Dido (Acoustic Cover by Sierra Eagleson)

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could, it'd all be grey
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad
I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there, they'll all imply
That I might not last the day
And then you call me
And it's not so bad, it's not so bad
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
Push the door, I'm home at last
And I'm soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel
And all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now
I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
And oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life

Everything coming to an end

Everything will come to an end,
Some people and things will also disappear from around us.
Not talking about dreams.
But about life.

一切都會結束,
有些人與物也會在身邊消失。
不是說夢,
是講人生。

Humbert Humbert -

“Yum Cha” Friend

He moved out to stay overseas

for around one year.

He recently returned to live here.

He moved out and moved in.

I treasure that I can occasionally call him out

to Yum Cha to chat about everything

and nonsense.
