My home was once plagued for years
by flocks of pigeons.
Pigeons don’t really “sing”—
they just emit a low, “gulu gulu” noise,
and they leave droppings everywhere,
making the place dirty, shabby, and
foul-smelling—unbearable.
Residents repeatedly complained
to the authorities,
and the pigeon-repelling efforts
eventually worked.
Now we only occasionally
see a few flying by,
and it’s no longer a major nuisance.
But recently, I’ve noticed
some twenty parrots
moving in and staying long-term.
Their loud, ear-splitting chatter
constantly disturbs me.
I have already lost control and
felt mad.
One evil fades, only for another
to arise—
life has non-stop nuisances
I can never avoid.
The Beatles - Blackbird
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
