People and Mountains

In youth, brash and reckless, 

unaware that beyond the mountains are 

more mountains, 

and beyond people are more people.

In middle age, still brash but 

with a slight awareness that 

beyond the mountains are more mountains, 

and beyond people are more people.

In old age, deeply wise, fully understanding that 

beyond the mountains are more mountains, 

and beyond people are more people.
